2015 is the year web design took a minimalist turn. The advice for web designers and web owners was to turn their websites into simple, formatted pages, where texts are larger and the pages responsive, to make the website easier to navigate and more accessible to mobile and tablet users. It was a very refreshing change for many – a simple and flat picture background, with clear overlaid texts and easy scrolling options for the touch users. Some websites even chose to hide their basic menu and page buttons to give way to a more comfortable browsing experience. One problem emerged from this trend, however – many websites looked almost the same! The minimalist approach may have made websites look less cluttered and easy to read, but it also left little room for innovative ideas.
